About Me

I am currently a software engineer at Twitter Inc., focusing on anti-spam.

I obtained my Ph.D. degree from the Computer Science Department at College of William and Mary, in May 2012. My advisor was Dr. Haining Wang. Before I joined WM in Fall 2006, I received my B.E. and M.E. in Computer Science from Southeast University, China in 2003 and 2006, respectively.

My research interests include anti-spam technologies (especially on social networks), machine learning, data mining, Internet anomaly detection, and security & privacy.

My Ph.D. dissertation is Detecting Abnormal Behavior in Web Applications. I've conducted projects on detecting social spam campaigns, and robots (automatic accounts) on Twitter, blog bots ... [read more]
